Awaaz frequently asked questions
Straightforward answers about joining, complaints, privacy, society management and plans.
What is Awaaz?
Awaaz is a community complaint portal for Pakistani societies. Residents report shared problems; management assigns work and residents confirm the result.
How do I join my society?
Create an account and use the society’s join code or invitation link. If approval is required, wait for management to approve your membership.
Can pending members file complaints?
No. Complaint filing and society discussions require approved membership. Contact your society management about a delayed membership request.
What should I include in a complaint?
Choose the category, give a specific title and location, and describe what you observed. Relevant photos help, but never risk your safety or publish personal documents.
Who can see a private complaint?
Only authorized people involved in handling it can see a private complaint. It is not shown in the society’s public feed or the public directory.
Does anonymous reporting hide my identity from everyone?
No. Anonymous reporting hides your identity from other residents and assigned staff; authorized society administrators retain access needed to handle the complaint.
How do I track a complaint?
Open Track and enter the AWZ tracking code. Public tracking shows a safe progress summary, not private complaints, contact details or internal notes.
What happens when my complaint is resolved?
Review the work and evidence. If solved, confirm with a 1–5 star rating. If not, give a reason and use the reopen option when eligible.
Can I use Awaaz for an emergency?
Do not rely on Awaaz for immediate danger. Contact the appropriate local emergency service using a verified number; routine complaint handling is not emergency response.
What can society administrators manage?
Authorized administrators manage categories, departments, staff, membership requests and complaint assignments, plus notices, moderation and society analytics.
Can staff see every society complaint?
Staff work on approved tasks assigned to them. Their task access does not grant unrestricted access to other complaints or anonymous reporters’ identities.
What appears in the public society directory?
Only listed active societies appear, with their public introduction and branding. Member lists, complaints and personal information never appear; performance requires a separate opt-in.
How much do Free and Pro cost?
The pricing page shows current owner-configured prices and limits. If Pro has no published price, contact the platform. Plans are assigned manually; an online payment service is not currently included.
Can I use Awaaz in Urdu?
Yes. Use the language switch for Urdu or English. Public Urdu pages have their own URLs. Your own complaint and discussion text is preserved, not automatically translated.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Use the item’s Report option and give a factual reason. Moderators can review reports and take authorized actions. Eligible sanctions have an appeal process; avoid duplicate or retaliatory reports.
